Trip to Mississippi

Sandi, Mason, Katie Beth, Emerson and I loaded up to go to Mississippi for a week in July to see Papa and Nana. We had a great time watching Papa fly his new airplane, playing in the sprinkler, and getting to watch fireworks.

It's Strawberry Pickin' Time!

Our playgroup got together last week and went to pick strawberries. They were wonderful, of course! Emerson had a good time and got to enjoy some strawberries too. I froze some, made a pie and some strawberry lemonade (super easy: 1 cup pureed strawberries, 2 qt. prepared lemonade and 1/2 cup sugar. YUMMY!!!). Too bad use have to use them so quickly. We might have to make another trip!

Easter Egg Hunt

Here are some pages about the Westwood Easter Egg Hunt we went to at the Houston's house last Saturday. Emerson didn't seem like she was feeling well but we kept moving on along. That night she felt really warm and I checked her temperature...103! Poor thing! So, no pretty Easter dress pictures for us on Easter at least. Maybe next week.

It's Easter time!

We went to Greg, Sandi, Mason and Katie Beth's house on Tuesday night to eat dinner together and dye Easter eggs. This was Emerson's first time dying eggs and I think she enjoyed it.

After the rain stopped...

Needless to say, we have seen a lot of rain in the last week. It finally stopped yesterday evening. We were all sitting at the sliding glass door looking at the "river" in our backyard and Matt said to Emerson, "Why don't you go outside and lay down in the puddle?". She was definitely wanting to go outside so it wasn't much of a temptation. She inched her way out there and stood in the water. Thank goodness she never laid down!

Golf with Daddy

Monday was a beautiful day after all the rain we had on the weekend, so Matt had the idea of us all going to the golf course. This was Emerson's first time on a golf course and it was difficult to keep her quiet and still when she needed to be, but she did really well. She finally got into it and started to enjoy being out there. We will definitely have to go again soon!
