Sunglasses

Emerson has fallen in love with her sunglasses! She has figured out how to put them on and she wears them around the house all the time now.

Visit with the Newman's

We had a great time with Ryan, Kayna & Abigail Newman at our house this weekend. Ryan is one of Matt's lifelong friends. Abigail is 2 1/2 and was so sweet with Emerson. I think they got along pretty well. Emerson had a pretty tough time sharing and having her space invaded, but she got better as the weekend went on.

Yummy Cheerios!

It has been really neat to watch the relationship grow between Emerson and Brooks. Since the day we brought her home he has tried to get her to play with him by dropping his ball in her carrier or at her feet and backing up and waiting for her to throw the ball. Now that she has really become mobile things have changed a little. She can now throw the ball for him but she can also chase after him! She is always so excited to see him and loves to try to give him kisses.

Today he was really interested in her Cheerios. He waited patiently beside her for one to drop within his reach. And as you can see in the second picture, didn't mind nudging her a little bit to get one within range.

He has been very good with Emerson and I hope it continues to be that way. I think she will appreciate having him in her life! Man's best friend, right!

The Backpack

Emerson got this backpack for her birthday from Eli. Matt put it on her the other night and she loved it. She walked around the whole house and didn't like it when we tried to take it off. I think it's a hit. Thanks Eli!!!

Chehaw Park

We went to Chehaw Park with Uncle Greg, Aunt Sandi, Mason & Kaite Beth on Monday. We enjoyed a picnic, playing on the playground, riding on the BMX track and taking a walk. It was great to be able to get out and enjoy the nice weather (in January can you believe!). I'm trying out the slideshow, so hopefully it works!

Emerson's Birthday Party

We had Emerson's first birthday party at our house with some family and friends there. We had a great time and she seemed to do pretty well with all the chaos. Thank you to all of you who were able to come!
